Pundit shares worrying Lisandro Martinez prediction after what he's seen at Man United
New Man United signing Lisandro Martinez will be targeted by Premier League strikers after a dismal debut.
That’s according to former Aston Villa and Scotland boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the defender’s debut.
Man United announced the signing of Ajax defender Martinez, 24, on 28 July.
He made his debut on Sunday (7 August) as the Red Devils lost 2-1 to Brighton at Old Trafford.
Martinez struggled to contain Danny Welbeck and was lucky to not give away a penalty in the second half.
McLeish claims the opposition will look to exploit Martinez every time he plays for Man United.

“Martinez is a very interesting signing,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.
“There is a thought going round at the moment that teams are reverting back to the old English style of getting balls into the box.
“Putting crosses in, the stats are getting higher for those kinds of things. It looks as if Martinez can be exploited in a lot of the games.
“It’s very unusual to see a centre-back with that kind of height, normally you would have had more of the over six feet guys who are able to compete in the air.
“The British game was always seen as a game that is more in the air than the Europeans’ game. Tactically, I think teams will target Martinez.”
Martinez joined Ajax in May 2019 and helped the club win four major honours.
The versatile defender has made seven appearances for Argentina after making his international debut on 22 March 2019.
