Pundit issues ‘absolutely huge’ Liverpool claim after Luis Diaz update
It will be “huge” for Liverpool to welcome back Naby Keita, Luis Diaz and Joel Matip from injury.
That’s according to former Tottenham and Aston Villa right-back Alan Hutton, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Reds’ injury woes.
According to The Athletic (4 December), Jurgen Klopp’s side are set for a triple injury boost ahead of friendlies against AC Milan and Lyon in Abu Dhabi.
The Merseysiders have headed off to Dubai for a warm weather training camp ahead of the Premier League restart.
Although Klopp is missing several big players who are still in the World Cup, Diaz, Keita and Matip are all set to be fit enough for their upcoming friendlies.
Matip and Diaz have been absent for the Reds since picking up injuries in October and Keita has been unavailable since the Community Shield victory over Man City at the beginning of the season.
Hutton insisted it will be a sigh of relief for Klopp to have them back.
“It will be absolutely huge,” he told Football Insider.
“Not just Liverpool but a lot of teams in the league everywhere would be looking to this break and thinking there is an opportunity to rest some players.
“Get some back off the treatment table and get working in warm weather and back integrated with the squad.
“It is an ideal opportunity for a lot of teams to get these players back.

“Jurgen Klopp will be happy, he will be hoping that all his players come back from the World Cup fit and healthy as well with an opportunity to try and climb back up the league.
“It has not been a great start for them but with a healthy squad they are an excellent team.“
