Pundit issues ‘big’ Man United warning amid Cavani January sale claim
Paddy Kenny claims Man United will “probably” sell Edinson Cavani in January despite him being “one of their better players”.
The former Leeds United stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider,
urged the Red Devils to keep hold of the attacker.
According to the Daily Mail (20 December), Cavani, 34, is a target for Barcelona in January as they search for a Sergio Aguero replacement.
Agent and talent spotter Andre Cury, speaking to Torcedores (22 December), claimed the striker is “unhappy” at Old Trafford and suggested a move to Brazil could be on the cards.
This came before a Cavani strike secured Man United a point away at Newcastle on 27 December.
Kenny insists the striker should stay at Old Trafford.
“It’s a no brainer to keep Cavani,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He’s in form and the one player who I thought showed a bit of passion in that Newcastle game.
“You could see it on his face when he scored. He just looks like he loves being there.
“It would really surprise me if Man United wanted to get rid of him, he always looks like he’s going to score.
“He’s a handful and I think he’s one of their best players at the moment.
“Having said that, the club continuously makes big errors off the pitch so it wouldn’t be a shock if he did go.
“He should stay so he will probably leave. That’s Man United right now.”

Cavani has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United this season and scored two goals.
He played the full 90 as the Red Devils beat Burnley 3-1 on 30 December.
