Pundit on West Ham potentially sacking David Moyes ‘right now’ – ‘it makes no sense’
Noel Whelan has claimed David Moyes must find a “settled eleven” at West Ham in order to save his job.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, lamented the “constant chopping and changing” at the London Stadium this season after a raft of big-money summer arrivals.
Moyes has faced calls for him to be sacked both in person and on social media after West Ham signed off for the mid-season World Cup break with a 2-0 defeat against Leicester City on Saturday (12 November).
The Irons have now lost three league games on the bounce, leaving them in 16th and just one point above the relegation zone.
West Ham brought in eight new faces during the off-season – and Moyes has struggled to field a consistent lineup in the full-back, striker, and attacking midfield positions.
According to the BBC, (13 November) club chiefs are backing the former Everton boss to pull the Londoners out of their current slump.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “It wouldn’t make any sense to get rid of Moyes right now.
“I think he’s the right man for the job.
“They’re not too far away from turning some of these draws and losses into wins, which is frustrating for the fans – but it will also frustrate Moyes and the players.

“They’ve brought a lot of players in. One thing which is key to Moyes’ future and West Ham moving forwards is finding that consistency.
“He’s got to find a settled eleven instead of the constant chopping and changing every week. That’s going to be important.”
