Pundit ‘wowed’ by Tottenham source’s update on ‘astronomical’ Rudiger deal
Tottenham would have to hand Antonio Rudiger an “astronomical” salary package to persuade him to join the club, according to Alan Hutton.
The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed “breaking the bank” for the 28-year-old could upset other members of the dressing room at the north London side.
This site revealed on Monday (20 December) that Tottenham will step up their bid to lure Rudiger from Chelsea this week amid intense competition from rival clubs.

The defender is out of contract at the end of the season after being left insulted by Chelsea’s most recent offer.
Hutton insisted Rudiger could be lured by the prospect of working under Antonio Conte.
“Wow, that would be an interesting move,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“I mean we’re talking astronomical amounts of money, wages wise. That could be the stumbling block for Tottenham.
“The lure of playing under Conte will be interesting to Rudiger. Obviously, Spurs are a big club, they’re in a bit of a transition at the moment – but can they jump in ahead of Real Madrid or Bayern Munich? I’m not so sure.
“They’re trying to get to that level, and Rudiger could help them. There’s an opportunity to get to that elite level, but I think everything going on behind the scenes with Daniel Levy and his involvement in negotiations will hamper them.
“Are they going to break the bank for him? Is Harry Kane, for example, going to be happy if a defender comes in on £400,000-a-week? I’m not so sure.”

Rudiger has played 23 times for Chelsea this term.
He can sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs when the transfer window opens on 1 January.
In other news, an insider has revealed Tottenham could soon be ‘laughing’ amid ‘£30m’ player prediction.
