Radrizzani shares tweet with Leeds fans after shock pre-season news

By Harry Sykes

The owner and chairman of Leeds United has posted a tweet apologising after the shock confirmation that their friendly game with FC Ingolstadt on Sunday had been cancelled.

In the tweet, which was posted on Friday afternoon on his official twitter account, shortly after the news broke, Radrizzani said, “Feel sorry for the fans who made plans to attend Sunday game (including me).”

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the game, scheduled to take place at the Kufstein Arena in Austria, was cancelled due to safety concerns.

Local police were reportedly not willing to let the game go ahead in what they called a “risk” friendly.

A statement on the FC Ingolstadt website read: “The test game on Sunday versus Leeds United Football Club was unfortunately cancelled due to safety concerns of local authorities in the short term.”

The cancellation will come as a blow to Leeds’ pre-season preparations, although they are due to play two more games in Austria.

They’re scheduled to play Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach on Thursday at the Silberstadt Arena.

They also play Spanish side Eibar next Sunday at the Jenbach Stadium.

In other Leeds news, the Whites announced another done deal as the Christiansen revolution continues.
