Rangers boss Michael Beale told to ‘keep his mouth shut’ after what pundit heard
Frank McAvennie has suggested Michael Beale could learn a thing or two from speaking to previous Rangers managers and players.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker is surprised he hasn’t heard of Beale wanting to speak to former Gers bosses.
The Light Blues boss just lost out on his last chance of silverware this season after suffering a 1-0 defeat to their Glasgow rivals in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday (30 April).
Speaking on Beale’s appointment back in November, former Gers manager Ally McCoist said that he wasn’t overly excited about it.
McCoist was surprised the former QPR boss was given the job, given his lack of experience.
McAvennie insisted Beale should be using the knowledge of people like McCoist.
“I have never heard him speaking to any other manager, of Rangers or anywhere.
“Everyone that comes in at Celtic, Gordon Strachan spoke to Martin O’Neill, he spoke to Billy McNeill. They all spoke to each other.
“McCoist was great. I have never heard Beale wanting to speak to anyone. He is English and I do not think he gets it.

“A wee chat to somebody outside his circle could have been beneficial. There are managers there that he can talk to. John Greig was one of the greatest players for Rangers and he is always about the place.
“I have never heard Beale wanting to have a chat with anyone. They might tell him to keep his mouth shut.“
