Kieran Maguire: Rangers could bag £6m windfall after ‘boardroom struggle’
Rangers shareholder Dave King could give £3million to the club on top of the £3m they are set to rake in from the Sydney Super Cup.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the political fallout from the controversial plan.
Rangers are set to face Celtic outside of Glasgow for the first time as part of the Australia-based friendly tournament in November.

Vast swathes of both sets of fans have objected to the plans, which they feel disregard the integrity of the historic fixture.
As relayed by the Daily Record last Wednesday (23 March), King has offered to cover the £3m Rangers will lose out on if they pull out of the tournament.
Maguire claims that the former chairman’s offer may be a power play as he is unhappy with the current board’s conduct.
“It does seem a strange thing to do,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“Why not just donate £3m to Rangers then they could have that on top of the Sydney Super Cup money. He could do that.
“I think this is indicative of a boardroom struggle that has become increasingly evident in recent months.
“There is a clear demarcation between Dave King and some who are on the board.
“Some of the comments made indicate that he is not comfortable with the composition of the board.“

King remains Rangers’ largest individual shareholder with 15 per cent.
He is on record as stating his ambitions to re-join the Ibrox board after stepping down as chairman in 2020.
