Rangers expert issues ‘absolutely massive’ Jack Wylie claim after source’s reveal

Alan Hutton has backed Rangers to keep hold of Jack Wylie.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said the draw of the Premier League is “absolutely massive” but there is a higher chance of being in the first team at Ibrox.

On 15 December, sources told this site that Tottenham and Newcastle United have joined the chase for the 15-year-old.

Other Premier League sides including Arsenal, Man United and Leeds United have all registered their interest in the young midfielder.

Wylie can’t sign his first professional deal at Ibrox until he turns 16 and the Gers are worried he could be lured away by a Premier League side.

The Light Blues are keen to keep hold of their young stars after losing Billy Gilmour and Rory Wilson in recent years.

Hutton acknowledged that a move down south is tempting for any young player.

It is always difficult when you come to that age and you are signing your first professional contract,” he told Football Insider.

Teams are looking at him because he is a standout player.

Rangers and Celtic both want to keep hold of young players. We have seen top players in the past, Ben Doak, Rory Wilson, leaving to go to big English teams. It is hard to hold on to them.

Rangers

I think with Michael Beale in charge, he brings through young players, there is a pathway to the first team. You would be hoping that would allow the young players to have time to break through.

I understand the draw of playing at a Premier League team is absolutely massive.

In other news, Hutton has claimed Rangers profitted from major injustice as controversial James Sands footage re-analysed.
