‘Jackass’, ‘Honking’ – Rangers fans annihilate senior player for display v Celtic
Rangers fans have annihilated Daniel Candeias for his performance in the 5-0 defeat Celtic at Parkhead on Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers’ side confirmed their seventh title in a row in an action-packed game in Glasgow’s East End, however Rangers fans were left fuming with their senior players for failing to stand up to the task, taking particular aim at Candeias.
The 30-year-old was largely at fault for Odsonne Edouard’s first goal when he got turned inside out by Kieran Tierney on the wing before the Scottish left-back played in the Celtic striker to score.
Graeme Murty’s side continued to crumble after that opener with Edouard bagging another before James Forrest, Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor all got on the scoresheet.
Rangers fans were livid with the Portuguese winger, and took to social media to make their feelings clear.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Candeias has made 42 appearances in all competitions for Rangers this term and has been one of a handful of Pedro Caixinha’s to have been a mainstay throughout the campaign.
He has scored eight goals and supplied 13 assists for the Light Blues.
In other Rangers news, one of Gerrard’s former Liverpool team-mates has dropped a hint that he could be on his way to Ibrox in the summer.
