Rangers fans will turn on Michael Beale after what pundit has just spotted

Michael Beale is “still in the honeymoon period” at Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie said that Gers fans will “turn on” their manager “very quickly” if he does not get the results they want.

Beale suffered an opening day defeat at the hands of Kilmarnock earlier this month before going on to a 4-0 win against Livingston.

The Gers narrowly defeated Servette across two legs to progress to the third qualifying round of the Champions League where they will face PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday (22 August).

The Light Blues have undergone a big transformation to their squad welcoming nine new arrivals this summer whilst also saying goodbye to seven first-teamers.

The Gers have also been linked with QPR midfielder Sam Field, as revealed by Football Insider (8 August), who played under Beale during his brief spell in charge.

When asked if his former players will want to work with Beale again, McAvennie told Football Insider:By all accounts he is a good tactician and he did all of that for Steven Gerrard but I keep saying good coaches do not make good managers.

Rangers

It is completely different. He is going to learn very quickly that the Rangers fans will turn on him.

There are only two teams that demand a win every week and that is just the way it is in Glasgow. I think Beale is still in the honeymoon period but this is now his team, he has got no excuses.
