Rangers selection headache: 10 different solutions to recurring problem

Ross McCrorie and David Bates

Rangers

After spending much of last season watching Bates and McCrorie together in the Gers’ Under-20 side, it’s testament to how hard both players have worked over the last year that they are in the first-team picture – never mid excelling in it.

Unlikely to play together in central defence unless absolutely necessary, the pair have played together a lot and know each other’s games well.

McCrorie could very well see much more game time in a slightly more advanced position and, in all likelihood, that would be a bigger boost to Bates’ chances for first-team games too.

Probably the least likely of all the pairings to be the first-choice.

Given a few years though, there’s every possibility that Bates and McCrorie are both Rangers mainstays.

In other Rangers news, Alan Brazil has claimed that this Premier League chief has firm interest in a role at Ibrox after a £300million bid is made.
