Two 5-1 wins, neither make top spot in Rangers five best ever wins v Celtic
1. Celtic 0-3 Rangers – May 1999
This is the game that anyone who grew up during nine in a row has as the absolute peak of what the Old Firm is.
Rangers went to Celtic knowing they could win the title with a win over their bitter rivals – and they delivered the title in style amidst sheer madness.
Celtic fans falling from the top tier of the stand, referee Hugh Dallas having his head split open by a coin thrown by Celtic fans, three red cards and a boyhood Celtic fan scoring the goals that won Rangers the title at Celtic Park for the first, and only, time in history.
Neil McCann’s double and a Jorg Albertz penalty secured the title for Dick Advocaat’s side – who then famously celebrated by mimicking Celtic’s huddle as their dejected players and fans looked on.
