Kieran Maguire: Rangers could be ‘quids in’ as ex-Man United executive hired
Rangers will “never have a better opportunity” than now to sign new sponsorship and commercial deals.
That is according to finance boffin and Football Insider columnist Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively after the club appointed a new head of partnership management for the 2021-22 campaign.
Oliver Pfeiffer, who has held previous commercial roles with Man United and Man City, confirmed the news via his LinkedIn page on 5th July.

Pfeiffer admitted he was excited at joining the club in this new role ahead of its 150th anniversary.
Maguire told this site on 14th May that Rangers can use the landmark occasion as a money-spinning marketing opportunity.
And the spreadsheet wiz claims that creating a bespoke role to manage sponsors is a no-brainer with the club on an upwards trajectory.
“This is leveraging on the Gerrard factor and the ’55 factor,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“Rangers will never have a better opportunity to sign up with new commercial partners on the back of their achievements last season.
“Therefore, if you employ someone on, say, less than six figures annually then you’ve only really got to sign two more deals and then you’re quids in.
“The last thing you want is the phone being engaged every time a potential sponsor wants to get in contact. That’s just throwing money away.“

Rangers have been prolific in securing sponsorship deals over the past 12 months and have now linked up with over 30 different businesses.
That coincided with a year of success on the pitch in which they wrestled back the Scottish Premiership title from Celtic after a decade-long wait.
