Rangers make emphatic decision over fresh big-money bid for in-demand star – report

Rangers have rejected a fresh bid of £7.5million for in-demand striker Alfredo Morelos, according to a report.
The Daily Record report that Beijing Renhe’s offer for the prolific 21-year-old was rejected immediately by Gers chairman Dave King as the Gers look to keep hold of their star striker.
Morelos only joined the Ibrox giants in the summer from Finnish champions HJK Helsinki in a £1million switch and has been the Gers’ main source of goals since arriving in Scotland.
The Colombian striker has hit the net 13 times in 27 games for Graeme Murty’s side, including 11 in 22 league appearances to make him the Scottish Premiership’s top goalscorer.
Despite the Chinese transfer window remaining open for a further month, the report states King is unwilling to sell the striker and jeapordise the Gers’ chances of success in the second-half of the season.
Football Insider verdict:
Although selling Morelos now would rake in a hefty chunk of cash for the Gers, it would be crazy to sell their top goalscorer at this point in the campaign. While it looks like Morelos’ Ibrox exit is rapidly approaching, the Gers should do everything to ang onto him until the end of the season before allowing him to move elsewhere for a sizeable fee. The Colombian can still greatly improve and while China will likely put a few extra zeros in his bank balance, it’s not going to be a great environment to continue his development. If he keeps banging the goals in in Scotland, a move somewhere like the Premier League isn’t likely to be far away.
