Rangers 29-yr-old must be wondering what he must do for first-team chance

Rangers striker Eduardo Herrera found himself left on the bench as the Gers chased the game against Kilmarnock following Kris Boyd’s goal – and the Mexican striker must be wondering what he has to do to get a chance.

Graeme Murty’s side ended the game playing a 4-2-4 formation with Kenny Miller, Alfredo Morelos, Jason Cummings and Jamie Murphy trying to grab an equaliser.

Herrera found himself the surplus attacker on the bench after Miller, Morelos and midfielder Jason Holt were introduced as the Light Blues recorded their seventh home defeat of the season.

The Mexican striker has hardly set the world alight since coming to Scotland in the summer but being overlooked completely looks like yet another sign his Ibrox days are numbered.

Despite coming to Ibrox with a decent pedigree, the 29-year-old has only scored twice in 24 appearances – only two of which have been from the start – but would have been hoping to get the nod against Steve Clarke’s side with the Gers chasing the game.

With compatriot Carlos Pena already back in Mexico, Herrera looks certain to follow in the summer after a disappointing spell at Ibrox.

If he does, the Light Blues are unlikely to see much, if any, of the £1.5million they shelled out to bring him across the Atlantic.

In other Rangers news, fans have demanded that the club signs this Old Firm scourge in the summer, claiming he is better than Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham.
