After January business, it's time for Rangers to turn their eyes to bigger and better things

COMMENT
Rangers manager Graeme Murty made six signings in the January transfer window but with attentions now turning to summer recruitment, the Gers need to look at adding quality and not quantity to the squad.
The Light Blues have had a huge turnover of players in recent years but now look to have the bulk of a squad strong enough to be realistically looking to push Celtic for the Scottish title.
With none of the current regulars in the first-team looking like they are on their way out without a replacement already at the club, there shouldn’t need to be a big turnover of players in the summer.
While there are a number of players on loan, two currently have agreements in place to make their moves permanent in the summer – Jason Cummings and Jamie Murphy – while Sean Goss and Russell Martin could quite feasibly become available on a permanent switch.
Director of football Mark Allen should already have a good idea of the type of player the Gers will be looking at in the summer and the funds available to improve the squad.
If Allen and Murty – or whoever takes the reins long-term – get it right, and on the strength of their January recruitment they are getting it right, Rangers could finally be closer to being back at the summit of Scottish football.
