Rangers working on multiple striker signings after source’s Alfredo Morelos reveal – expert

Alan Hutton has insisted Rangers are targeting a number of strikers this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender said Josh Maja would be a good signing but claimed the Light Blues will have their eye on a number of options.

Former mainstay Alfredo Morelos is out of contract this summer and earlier this week (27 March) this site revealed that he is yet to be offered a new deal by the Ibrox club.

Morelos has fallen down the pecking order at the Glasgow club following the arrival of Antonio Colak last summer and has struggled with fitness and discipline issues.

On 27 March, Football Insider revealed that the Gers have been interested in bringing Maja, 24, to Ibrox but are facing a new difficulty if parent club Bordeaux are promoted to Ligue 1 at the end of the season.

The striker is out of contract in the summer but the French side have the option to extend his deal for a year if they win promotion to the top flight.

When asked if Maja could be the answer to Rangers’ striker dilemma, Hutton told Football Insider:I think he can definitely add something there is no doubt about that.

With the Alfredo Morelos situation, it looks to me like he is probably going to leave. Colak is firing, [Kemar] Roofe has struggled for fitness so they need to bring somebody in.

I do not think Maja is going to be the only guy on their radar, I think there will be a number of options there and they will pursue them all.
