Man United to sell Marcus Rashford at astonishing ‘£60m discount’
Man United are ready to sell Marcus Rashford for a huge knockdown fee as they are now “under pressure” to sell, according to the Daily Mail.
According to the outlet’s website on 12 December, the Red Devils would have asked for “as much as £100million” after his incredible 30-goal campaign two years ago.
However, the 27-year-old’s form has faltered since that first season under Erik ten Hag, despite signing a £325,000-a-week contract last year which is now seen as “prohibitive” to a sale and has contributed to the massive reduction in his value.
A £40m offer would now be accepted by Man United.
Selling homegrown players, like Rashford, would count as 100% profit on the profit and sustainability (PSR) balance sheet.
Man United have off-field problems that could be affecting on-the-pitch issues
Dan Ashworth led support for Ten Hag and approved most of the summer signings. With him leaving unexpectedly, it shocked many supporters and journalists.
Rio Ferdinand claimed that Ashworth’s role in the hierarchy was “different” from his previous positions. This may explain why Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS made the cutthroat decision to part ways with him.
After Ashworth’s departure, Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that the owners are “turning people against them” with their “bizarre” decisions.

Controversial choices aren’t new for INEOS. They recently imposed another harsh cost-cutting measure with Christmas approaching. Staff have even described them as “worse” than the Glazers’ ownership.
With PSR issues looming, selling players has become a priority for profit. Selling Rashford would divide fans due to the sympathetic approach for a homegrown player. But his form is also a major factor to consider as he only has four goals this season in the league.
Despite this, United are “not anticipating any offers for Rashford.” The club also wants to avoid selling other homegrown “crown jewels” like Kobbie Mainoo or Alejandro Garnacho according to the Mail.
In other news, Arsenal signing Rashford will be a “hell of a signing.”.
