'Ready to kick on' – Scott Brown reveals aims of Celtic trip to Dubai

Celtic captain Scott Brown believes that the Hoops’ winter break in Dubai will set them up nicely for the second-half of the season.
He has also warned his team-mates that manager Brendan Rodgers will be expecting total commitment from his players in training and that the trip isn’t a holiday.
“We aren’t going out there just to sit with our feet up,” he said, as quoted by the Evening Times.
“There will be double sessions and we will be working hard, you can be sure of that.
“It is about making sure that we come back ready to kick on again. We will have a chance to get some respite but the gaffer will make sure that we are being put through our paces.”
The Hoops had a decent first-half of the season, with setting a new British record of 69 domestic games without defeat being the highlight.
They also retained the Betfred Cup and qualified for a last 32 of the Europa League tie against Zenit, despite some indifferent performances in the Champions League group stages.
The number of games played since July has taken it’s toll though, and the team did look weary in their last league match before the break, the 0-0 draw with Rangers at Celtic Park, a game which the Gers controlled in the second-half.
Despite the poor performance against Rangers, the Hoops still have an 11 point lead over their old rivals and an eight point lead over second placed Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership league table.
The Hoops’ return to action from Dubai on the 20th of January, when they take on Brechin in the Scottish Cup.
