Report: Senior Tottenham duo major doubts v West Brom as star man battles through injury

Tottenham duo Mousa Dembele and Danny Rose are both major doubts for the clash against West Brom but star defender Kieran Trippier has battled through his own injury blow, according to a report.

The Express claim on their website that the central midfielder and left back are both struggling to recover from their respective issues, with Rose having been sidelined for the last three Premier League games and Dembele having played just over an hour against Watford on Monday night.

Trippier is said to have been suffering from a knock but completed the full 90 minutes at Wembley against the Hornets, and will be looking to keep Serge Aurier out of the side after rotating with the Ivory Coast international throughout the campaign.

Football Insider verdict

While some might argue that Spurs have little to play for now that they have been knocked out of all the cup competitions, there is still the small matter of finishing in the top four, with fifth-placed Chelsea still on their tails and Liverpool just ahead in third. Rose will not be a big miss considering how Ben Davies has performed in the role but Dembele would be a big miss in the centre of the park. His imposing frame and outstanding technique has been the crux of some of Spurs’ biggest and best performances and while the game might be against the side sitting bottom of the Premier League, there is no underestimating the impact losing him would be. Who steps into the void is up to Mauricio Pochettino, but Victor Wanyama will be desperate to prove himself ahead of the summer window, when there is every chance the club will cash in on him.
