
Reportedly valued at £8m: Newcastle must beat Wolves to 21-year-old target man – view

Championship outfit Wolves are reportedly willing to pay as much as £8million to sign Southampton forward Sam Gallagher, but Newcastle should steal in first.
The Sun’s transfer expert Alan Nixon claimed on his personal Twitter account that the 21-year-old target man is interesting big-spending Wolves ahead of potential summer move.
It is said, though, that Southampton want more than the £8million Wolves are willing to pay for Gallagher’s services and that could give Newcastle the leverage needed to swoop in.
Newcastle have already completed five new signings this summer, with £30million being spent on Florian Lejeune, Javier Manquillo, Mikel Merino, Christian Atsu and Jacob Murphy.
But a striker is required on Tyneside after the Toon had a bid rejected for Stoke forward Joselu earlier this week, according to the Stoke Sentinel.
