Everton have set their sights on Aston Villa loan star Tammy Abraham this summer, Football Insider understands.

The Chelsea-owned striker, 21, has spearheaded Villa's promotion pursuit with 25 goals from 37 Championship matches in his third consecutive campaign out on loan.

An Everton source has told Football Insider that Abraham is on the club's list of centre-forward targets as they look to recruit young, hungry players with the potential to make a big impact in England's top tier.

The Merseysiders have regularly watched the England international in action this season and believe he can be a major threat to Premier League defences next campaign.

Abraham has a contract at Chelsea that runs until 2022 and his future at the club could depend upon whether they succeed in overturning the two-window transfer hanging over them.

Should the Premier League giants fail to do so, it is more likely they will refuse to entertain offers for the forward even though he has made only three appearances for his parent club.

Abraham was named by Football Insider pundit and ex-Leeds United ace Noel Whelan as the Championship player of the year for his exploits for Villa this season.
