Robinson rubbishes Tottenham legend after ‘worst I’ve seen’ claim

Paul Robinson has rubbished concerns over Harry Kane and Son Heung-min’s form for Tottenham this season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one suggested the two forwards have been feeding off scraps for the majority of the campaign.

Kane and Son produced lacklustre displays in a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday (1 January).

Speaking to Optus Sport post-match, Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle said it was “the worst” he’d seen the two players play.

Both forwards returned to their goalscoring ways on Wednesday night in a 4-0 win at Crystal Palace.

When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to Hoddle’s comments, Robinson said: “I think their performance the other day was down to the team in all honesty.

“The team has really been struggling and they have had very little service. You cannot ask those two players to carry the team.

“Defensively are wear Spurs’ problems are and the manager knows that. It’s evident that there needs to be a couple of signings at the back.

“When a team is struggling it is difficult for the two at the top end of the pitch to drag the team up to a level you would expect. They have not been getting the service that they want.

“There is very few occasions this season where I have thought Spurs have played well. Harry Kane has still scored 15 goals so you cannot point the finger at him.”

In other news, Tottenham have been told to sell ‘calamitous’ Emerson Royal and his teammate after training ground bust-up.
