Ronaldo Vieira delivers his verdict on Leeds defeat against Barnsley
By Amir Mir
Ronaldo Vieira has expressed his frustration as Leeds were beaten 3-2 at Yorkshire rivals Barnsley on Saturday night.
Garry Monk’s side missed the chance to reclaim top spot as nine minutes of madness in the second half saw the Whites blow a one-goal lead.
Striker Chris Wood opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half, but straight after the break, they conceded three goals within the space of nine minutes.
One of those goals did include a brilliant free-kick from Tykes playmaker Conor Hourihane but despite Woods netting his second of the game, it was not enough.
After the game, midfielder Vieira posted this message to supporters on his personal Twitter account.
Vieira played 58 minutes at Oakwell before his manager substituted him off for fellow midfielder Euan O’Kane.
The 18-year-old, who is a product of the club’s academy, has played 23 games in all competitions this season, scoring just the one goal.
Monk’s side are currently fourth in the Championship table on 48 points from 27 games as they welcome league strugglers Nottingham Forest to Elland Road on Wednesday night.
Forest, who are currently without a manager, beat the Yorkshire club during the reverse fixture in August.
Since then, the Whites have climbed up the table, while the Midlands outfit have seen their performances dip as they now battle relegation.
However, they did beat Bristol City 1-0 earlier on in the day which means they have picked up four points from their last two games.
