‘Ruben Amorim furious under Sir Alex Ferguson watch as Everton vs Man United’

Ruben Amorim was furious with his Man United team during the 2-2 draw against Everton while being watched by Sir Alex Ferguson, according to a Sky Sports reporter.

Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure gave David Moyes‘ side the perfect start at Goodison Park on 22 February, seeing the Red Devils drift further away from the top half of the Premier League table.

That was until a late fight-back from Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte helped bring a point back to Old Trafford, though the performance was still nothing to be proud of.

Unsurprisingly to the supporters, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund made little impact for Man United, facing back-to-back losses after a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Tottenham last time out.

Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt made several mistakes in the centre of defence, with Casemiro struggling to control the middle of the park for United.

All of this was unfolding while Ferguson watched on from the Goodison Park stands.

Ruben Amorim could not believe his eyes during Everton defeat

Speaking via Sky Sports News [22 February], Peter Stevenson said: “Amorim paces his technical area with a face like thunder. Occasionally, he sits on his haunches.

“You fear he could be on his knees by the end of the game. Former boss Sir Alex Ferguson is watching from the stands. You wonder what he makes of all of this.”

It has already been suggested that Amorim has one eye on the Man United exit doors, with Patrick Dorgu the only senior signing made during the winter transfer window.

Man United continue to crumble after Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign

Things could have been even worse for United had referee Andrew Madley stuck with his initial decision of a penalty on Ashley Young, only for the spot-kick to be overturned following a VAR review.

The Old Trafford fortress has only continued to crumble since Ferguson’s departure as manager in 2013, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe doing his best to rip the walls down at Man United.

With £300million in transfer fees for Ratcliffe still to pay off, Amorim has no chance of beginning a rebuild of the current squad, let alone completing one in the next few years.

Supporters are, understandably, becoming restless with the current situation on and off the pitch, but until the new manager is shown support by the hierarchy, he has no chance of competing further up the table.
