Sadio Mane may be quitting Liverpool after Sky update – pundit
Alex McLeish has claimed Sadio Mane may have “ambitions for a fresh challenge” as he prepares to announce a decision on his Liverpool future.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted there will be “no stopping” the 30-year-old if he has his heart set on a move to pastures new.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Wednesday (25 May), Mane explained that he will reveal where his future lies after the conclusion of Saturday’s (28 May) Champions League final against Real Madrid.
The Senegal international is out of contract at the end of next season.
A Liverpool source told Football Insider on Saturday (21 May) that he is keen to stay at Anfield, but while the club’s hierarchy want to keep him – they will not offer him a “huge” pay rise.
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a move for the talismanic winger.
McLeish insisted Mane should snub a move to the French capital in favour of a Bavarian switch.
“The French league is not as competitive, there’s no doubt about it,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“Bayern are interested as well, that would be a better move.
“But you never know what players are thinking – he may have ambitions for a fresh challenge.
“You only get a certain amount of years at the top of your career. Mane is certainly not getting any younger.

“However, let’s face it. He would be leaving perhaps the best club in the world to go to about the 10th-best club in the world in PSG.
“But if he’s decided to move on, then I don’t think there’ll be any stopping him.”
