Savinho and Joelinton react to Joao Pedro’s latest amid Brighton exit rumours

Joao Pedro has taken to social media with a new message as rumours continue to swirl around his future at Brighton this summer.

While the striker’s current deal runs until 2028, and he has become one of the most important figures in Fabian Hurzeler’s team, Pedro has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool at the end of the season with the Seagulls eyeing a lucrative offer.

Arne Slot could lose star winger Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, with no news over the Egyptian’s contract situation, so supporters at the Amex Stadium would not be surprised to see the Reds make a move.

With eight goals and six assists in 25 league appearances this season, it would be incredibly difficult to replace him, which is certainly a concern ahead of the transfer window opening.

Taking to Instagram (9 April), Pedro shared images of himself, enjoying life away from the pitch, gaining interest from the likes of Man City’s Savinho and Newcastle’s Joelinton, who both liked the post.

Teammates Joel Veltman and Igor Julio also liked the post, with Bournemouth star Evanilson joining the party on social media.

Fabian Hurzeler can rebuild Brighton with Joao Pedro as a centrepiece

Football Insider verdict

Hurzeler was under pressure at Brighton just a couple of months ago, but with a top-half Premier League finish on the cards and a narrow FA Cup quarter-final defeat, he has turned it around already.

The Seagulls will also be fighting for European qualification, and with seven games remaining until the league season finishes, it is certainly a possibility, and quite the accomplishment.

Pedro, Danny Welbeck, Kaoru Mitoma, who was also linked with a Brighton exit, Yankuba Minteh, and Georginio Rutter have all been key to the attack this season, and any of them leaving would be difficult.

If Hurzeler is given the backing of the Brighton owners during the summer transfer window, and the club can keep many of the stars already in the squad, he can push his team up the Premier League table.

With back-to-back losses in the league now, the Seagulls must get back to winning ways to get European football, and that should definitely be possible with Leicester City up next.
