Sean Longstaff branded ‘disgrace’ as Newcastle footage is re-analysed

Newcastle United fans have called Sean Longstaff “pathetic” and a “disgrace” after Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s goal on Monday (25 November) was re-analysed.

West Ham United defeated the Magpies 2-0 at St. James’ Park, and fans have called out the Newcastle midfielder for giving up and not running back when Wan-Bissaka gets the ball.

The 27-year-old has been a regular feature in Newcastle’s team lately, having played in all but one of their Premier League fixtures this season.

Longstaff has yet to produce a goal or assist for the Magpies in this campaign, and fans have started to tire with his performances.

The defeat was Newcastle’s fourth of the season, with Eddie Howe’s team having only managed to win five of their 12 Premier League matches this season.

The Magpies currently sit 10th in the table and they are four points away from being in the top four, with Champions League football being something the club are aiming for.

Newcastle fans have claimed that Longstaff is “pathetic” with others claiming he can no longer start ahead of Sandro Tonali anymore.

Kelly let himself down for the goal and it is a real shame as he has otherwise been okay to decent.

Howe picking Longstaff over Tonali continues to be a disgrace and embarrassment in equal measure.

Gordon has been poor, Tino’s final ball has not been good enough.

Longstaff literally coasts and then stops. Joelinton was tracking back but he was too far forward to make a play. Out of position lazy defense from Longstaff and ball watching/hoping pope gets it Kelly was the reason this happened.
