Rodgers drops shock transfer update about Dembele situation at Celtic
Brendan Rodgers has shockingly refused to confirm that Moussa Dembele will still be a Celtic player after the January transfer window has closed.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of plenty of speculation regarding his future but as yet no club have made an offer to the Hoops.
Rodgers, however, has refused to quell fans’ worries about losing Dembele this month, admitted that he may well leave Parkhead.
“I can’t say either way. You just never know. But at this moment in time Moussa is here and training. We shall see,” he said when asked about the forward, as quoted by PA Sports’ Andy Newport on Twitter.
Dembele has been a revelation since joining the Hoops from Fulham in 2016. In his first season with the club he scored 32 goals as the Bhoys won their first domestic treble since 2001.
He also made a big impact in Europe, scoring three goals in the Champions League group stages including a double against Manchester City.
This season the French under-21 international hasn’t been as prolific due to injury problems ans squad rotations.
He has still scored nine goals though, including a memorable strike against PSG in the Champions League group stages.
Dembele and the rest of his team-mates return to action after their winter break in Dubai with a Scottish Cup tie against Brechin City, as the Bhoys begin the defence of the trophy won in memorable fashion last year thanks to a last minute Tom Rogic strike against Aberdeen.
