Sheffield United tipped for play-off push after source’s Charlie Goode update today – Kenny
Paddy Kenny insists Sheffield United will be stronger if they can sign a centre-back before tonight’s deadline.
The Ex-Blades stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims his former side can only progress with a stronger defence.
Today (31 January) Football Insider revealed Brentford defender Charlie Goode is undergoing a Sheffield United medical after agreeing a deal.

A number of Championship clubs have shown an interest in the central defender, 26, but United have won the race for his signature.
Goode has made eight appearances in all competitions for Brentford this season, with his last outing coming in the win over Watford last month.
Kenny claims the Blades can push for a play-off place if Goode is confirmed as a new signing.
“We have seen Sheffield United throw away so many points this season,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I think if anything is to get done before the window closes, it would be a defensive signing.
“I have been saying for ages that we need to be stronger at the back so a centre-half would be ideal.
“Fingers crossed we can get one in because the manager has had a really good impact.
“We were talking about a late push for the play-offs a few weeks ago. That could still happen if we add a bit of quality.
“Let’s see where we all are after deadline day.”

Paul Heckingbottom’s side have lost just one of their last nine Championship games.
The 11th-place side are just six points adrift of sixth-place Middlesborough with two games in hand on the Teessiders.
In other news, top Championship sides are circling a proven second-tier talisman ahead of tonight’s deadline.
