Jamie Murphy sends Twitter message to Rangers fans after sealing switch

New Rangers signing Jamie Murphy has said pulling on a Gers shirt as a player will be “special” in a Twitter message to fans after completing his season-long loan move from Brighton.
Murphy grew up a Rangers fan and revealed his pride at signing for his boyhood heroes after a protracted set of of negotiations ended with the 28-year-old moving on a temporary basis with an agreement in place to make it a permanent move in the summer.
The former Sheffield United and Motherwell winger arrived in Glasgow on Thursday to undergo a medical before his transfer was confirmed in the early hours of Sunday morning by the Ibrox giants.
Ahead of jetting out to Florida to link up with his new team-mates at their winter training camp, Murphy admitted that wearing the Rangers shirt as a player and not just a fan will be “something special.”
“Wore the shirt many times as a kid but the chance to put it on for real is something special,” Murphy said on his personal Twitter account.
“Will always be worn with pride. Thank you all for the support!”

Murphy was a key part of Brighton’s promotion push last season as they secured a place in the Premier League for the first-time.
After manager Chris Hughton overhauled his squad, the 28-year-old found himself down the pecking order at the Amex and struggled for regular game time with the Premier League new boys.
Murphy will now look to play regularly under Graeme Murty in the second-half of the season before he is expected to make his move permanent with the 54-times Scottish champions.
In latest Rangers news, Gers fans have blasted the Ibrox board for their handling of Murphy’s transfer.
