5. Kolo Toure
The now retired centre-back was a complete unknown when he was signed from Mimosas for a paltry fee of just £167k. He went on to play more than 300 games for Arsenal, including 37 games (all but one) in the Invincibles season of 03/04. He was then shipped onto Man City for a huge profit of over £16million, before he ended his career with Liverpool and then Celtic. A real warhorse and delivered for Arsenal in every aspect.
