There’s a theme developing here. Van Persie was an absolute machine at Arsenal after arriving for £4million from Feyenoord. He spent eight years at Arsenal and undoubtedly had his best years of his career at Highbury. But, for Arsenal fans, his departure for bitter rivals Man United was unforgivable, despite netting the club a massive profit from the £28million fee. He wasn’t the same at United and only lasted three years before going to Fenerbahce for £6million.
