Sources: Arsenal open Youri Tielemans talks
Arsenal have opened talks with Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, sources have told Football Insider.
Newcastle United and Barcelona are also interested in a move for Tielemans ahead of the summer.
The 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer as clubs look to chase him on a free transfer, although Football Insider has learned that Tielemans’ wage demands are “high”.
On Tuesday (4 April), sources told this site that Liverpool won’t pursue the midfielder this summer.
The Merseysiders have been linked with a move for Tielemans as they look to add recruits in midfield but it is believed that Jurgen Klopp’s recruitment team deem him “not mobile enough” for the team’s requirements.
The Belgium international joined Leicester from Monaco in 2019 following a successful season on loan at the King Power Stadium.
This season he has made 29 appearances for the Foxes across all competitions and has scored four goals and provided one assist.
The midfielder is currently sidelined with an ankle injury picked up against Arsenal in February and was not in the squad for the 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Tuesday (4 April).

The Foxes are currently 19th in the Premier League following the defeat to Villa and are battling to stay in the top flight next season.
Leicester also got rid of manager Brendan Rodgers at the weekend (2 April) after he failed to turn around the poor run of results that landed them in the relegation contest.
