Sources: Arsenal pull plug on signing Bailey due to ‘attitude’ problem as Aston Villa lead race
Arsenal have pulled out of the race to sign Leon Bailey in a major boost to Aston Villa, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
But an Arsenal source has told Football Insider that they are no longer pursuing Bailey.
They conducted background checks on the wide forward and learned of “attitude” issues.
The Londoners are now looking elsewhere as they look to recruit a top-quality wide forward this summer.
Villa are in the driving seat to sign Bailey as they simultaneously work on landing Todd Cantwell from Norwich City.

As revealed by Football Insider in April, Dean Smith made it a priority to add multiple attacking recruits to his squad this summer.
The Villans have already signed Emi Buendia in a deal worth £33million rising to a potential £38m.
They are now in advanced talks with Norwich over a move for Cantwell as he heads into the final year of his contract at Carrow Road.
However, Villa are also leading the charge for Bailey after his impressive form over in Germany.
The Jamaica international scored 15 goals and contributed 11 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions last season.
A pacy, versatile forward who can operate anywhere in the front three, he ticks the boxes for Villa boss Smith.
Bailey is currently on international duty with Jamaica at the Gold Cup.
Having started his country’s opening two games, the 10-cap star was an unused substitute for Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat to Costa Rica.
