Sources: Aston Villa working on two new forward signings after Moussa Diaby bid
Aston Villa have had a bid rejected for Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League side are not the only team in for the player as several other clubs have bid, meaning it will not be a straightforward race.
Unai Emery would like to bring in two wingers before the end of the transfer window, with Leeds United’s Wilfried Gnonto also on the radar at Villa Park.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Villa’s initial bid for Diaby was rejected at £35million, but are expected to come in with a new offer as negotiations continue.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Wednesday (5 July) that Everton and Aston Villa alongside other Premier League clubs are interested in signing Leeds United star Gnonto.
On 24 April, Football Insider Also revealed that Leeds would be forced to sell the star winger if they were relegated to the Championship as The Whites would demand a fee north of £40million to let him quit the club this summer.
The 19-year-old’s contract at Elland Road runs until 2027 after he joined from FC Zurich last year for a reported fee of just under £4million.

Gnonto made 24 Premier League appearances in a campaign that saw Leeds finish 19th and lose their spot in the top flight.
With Emery looking to sign two wingers before the end of the transfer window, Diaby and Gnonto could be signed by the Villains amid interest in both stars.
