Sources: Aston Villa working to sign multiple ‘huge’ players

Aston Villa are plotting moves for multiple starlets in an attempt to bolster their youth ranks, sources have told Football Insider.

A well-placed source has told this site that the Midlands giants are placing an emphasis on signing youngsters with “huge potential”.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (17 April) that Aston Villa are leading the race to sign Charlton Athletic sensation Miles Leaburn this summer.

It is believed that Unai Emery’s side are keen to beat off rivals to a deal in the off-season, with scouts from several Premier League sides watching the 6ft 5in striker in action.

Sources have told Football Insider that Aston Villa could sanction a buy-to-loan deal for Leaburn – sending him back to League One Charlton to help continue his development.

The youngster has notched 12 goals and three assists across 36 in all competitions this season after signing his first professional contract last summer (2022).

Midfielder Jacob Ramsey is the most successful recent graduate of Aston Villa’s academy – and has nailed down a spot in Emery’s side this season.

Meanwhile, starlets Cameron Archer, Aaron Ramsey, Tim Iroegbunam and Jaden Philogene are thriving out on loan in the Championship.

Midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka was sold to Chelsea last summer for a reported fee of around £20million.
