Sources: Bologna ready £4.6m bid for Aberdeen sensation Ramsay
Bologna are preparing an improved £4.6million bid for Aberdeen sensation Calvin Ramsay, Football Insider understands.
The Scottish outfit are facing a battle to keep hold of the right-back, 18, this month with several Premier League clubs also weighing up offers.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Bologna are coming back with an improved bid for Ramsay after seeing their initial offer rejected.
The Italian club are also expecting Premier League clubs to table bids.
Ramsay has emerged as one of the brightest talents in Scotland after breaking through the Aberdeen youth ranks.
He has already made 28 first-team appearances for the Dons, 22 of which have come this season.
The teenager has proven himself as an attacking threat down the flank, with eight assists under his belt.
His performances have caught the eye of talent spotters from across Europe.
Bologna are among the frontrunners for his capture and tabled a formal bid that was turned down by Aberdeen.
However, the Italians are set to return with an improved offer to try and win the race for his capture.
Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass insisted the club do not want to lose Ramsay late in this month’s window.
He stated it would take “ridiculous sums” for Aberdeen to consider any last-minute offers.
Bologna already have one Scottish full-back on their books, having signed Aaron Hickey from Hearts in 2020.

The 19-year-old has become a mainstay for the Serie A outfit, with 33 senior appearances under his belt.
He has played in all but one of his club’s 22 league game this season.
In other news, Old Firm star urged to sign for Aberdeen this month as late plot reported.
