Sources: Celtic plotting three headline signings after Joe Dudgeon deal agreed

Celtic are planning three headline signings in the upcoming summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is understood that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is targeting a new centre-back, central midfielder and striker this summer as he looks to maintain his club’s momentum in Glasgow.

The Scottish league leaders have begun an overhaul of their scouting department as they prepare for a busy summer of transfer activity.

There will be an influx of new signings, with the key positions already identified as the club prepare to assemble shortlists of potential recruits.

Football Insider sources revealed on Thursday (9 March) that Celtic are set to appoint Joe Dudgeon in a recruitment role after agreeing terms.

The former City Football Group scout will join Postecoglou and Mark Lawwell in levelling up the scouting and recruitment network at Celtic Park.

Dudgeon previously worked with Melbourne City and New York City FC.

Lawwell joined Postecoglou in Scotland last summer after the Celtic boss urged the club to bring him on board.

The Hoops boss has previously emphasised the importance of scouting the globe for talent.

“We’re looking everywhere in terms of our recruitment,” said Postecoglou.

“Mark Lawwell is in the building now and the reason I brought him in is that he knows what I am looking for. The brief is to scour the world for that.

“The Japanese and Asian market is one I’m really familiar with and I still think there is value there for players, and I know how they would fit into what we do.”
