Sources: Club in pole position to sign West Ham star Manuel Lanzini
West Ham are yet to hold contract renewal talks with Manuel Lanzini as he hits the last few months of his contract, sources have told Football Insider.
The 30-year-old’s deal expires at the end of June and he looks set to leave London as a free agent in the summer with a host of clubs ready to move for him.
River Plate are keen to try and bring the playmaker back to Argentina but there is also major interest in Europe and around the UK.
Sources say that interest in bringing in a player capped by the current world champions for free is high, with River Plate leading the charge.
West Ham have told the long-serving star he is free to find a new club over the coming months.
Lanzini has been at West Ham since 2015 and made over 200 appearances for the club, scoring 31 times and helping the club to a European semif-final last season.
This year he has not seen regular action for David Moyes and his side featuring mostly in Europe and only making seven appearances in the Premier League.
Lanzini began his career at River Plate and made just under 100 appearances for the club before leaving his homeland for the United Arab Emirates in 2014.
However it only took one season for Europe to come calling and West Ham won the race for the then extremely highly rated player.

The Hammers fans will be sad to see a long serving player walk out the door for free however with new arrivals due in the summer his time may have come to find a new opportunity.
If Lanzini is to walk out the doors of the London stadium, which is now very likely, he no doubt will go in good grace from the fans after eight years at the club.
