Sources: Hull City’s move for Pedro Martins on brink of collapse
Pedro Martins’ appointment as the new Hull City manager is on the brink of collapse, sources have told Football Insider.
The former Olympiacos boss, 52, is still in talks with the club but is looking increasingly unlikely that he will be the new Hull City manager.
Caretaker boss Andy Dawson is likely to remain in charge for now.
Martins was in attendance at the MKM Stadium on Wednesday (5 October) when Hull ended their five game run of defeats with a 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic.
That was Dawson’s second game in temporary charge after Shota Arveladze was sacked last week (30 September).
He will likely be the man in the dugout when the Tigers, who are now 17th in the Championship, travel to Huddersfield Town on Sunday (9 October).
The reason for the breakdown between Martins and Hull City is unclear although he has also been linked with the vacant Wolves job this week.
The Portuegese coach has been out of work since leaving Olympiacos in the summer.
He guided the Greek club to three league titles and one domestic cup in four years in charge.

Martins did not originally appear on a four-man shortlist for the Hull City job and Acun Ilaci may be forced to restart his search for Arveladze’s replacement.
Sources told Football Insider earlier this week (4 October) that Carlos Carvalhal, Carlos Corberan, Scott Parker and Sergen Yalcin were on the original four-man shortlist for the post.
