Sources: Jack Butland agrees four-year Rangers deal after medical completed
Rangers are set to complete their third summer signing on Tuesday after Jack Butland agreed a four-year contract, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Monday morning that the goalkeeper, 30, was undergoing a medical with the club.
Now, the proven Premier League performer is putting the finishing touches to a free transfer.
Rangers are tying up the formalities of the deal after Crystal Palace decided against triggering the one-year deal option in his contract.
Rangers have been trailing Butland for over a year after initially considering him for last summer.
But Allan McGregor opted to remain one more year and Rangers cooled their interest.
Now a deal has been resurrected, and Butland will become the Rangers’ third summer signing following Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling.
The former Man United man will become Michael Beale’s fifth signing since his arrival in Glasgow towards the end of 2022.
Butland did not make any appearances for United this season after he arrived on loan back in January and has only made 17 appearances for Palace since he joined the club in 2020.

Rangers are in need of another option between the sticks after it was confirmed by the club that McGregor would be leaving the Glasgow giants following the expiration of his contract.
The 41-year-old made 488 appearances for the Gers during his time at the club and kept 216 clean sheets across those games.
