Sources: Leeds United close in on Liverpool rising star Musialowski after development today
Leeds United are edging closer to completing a deal for Liverpool starlet Mateusz Musialowski, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Whites are eager to bring the 20-year-old in as backup to their prolific frontline.
As revealed by Football Insider (22 January), the club had registered their interest in Musialowski and have made checks on the Poland under-21 international.
It is believed that several clubs have expressed their interest in the youngster, but Leeds have made further progress on a deal in the last hours.
Musialowski has impressed for Liverpool’s under-21s this season, scoring six goals and providing two assists across 11 appearances.
The forward is yet to make a senior appearance in football but has racked up 80 appearances across Liverpool’s youth sides.
He signed a three-year deal upon his arrival on Merseyside from Polish side UKS SMS Lodz, and that contract is due to expire in June.
His impressive versatility has allowed him to play on both wings, at centre-forward, attacking midfield and central midfield this season.
He has been capped five times for Poland’s under-21s, earning his debut in September 2022 and scoring once.

Leeds sit fourth in the Championship table after their 1-0 win against Norwich City on Wednesday (24 January).
They next face Plymouth Argyle in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon (27 January).
