Sources: Man United ‘player of the year’ Dan Gore undergoing medical today after five offers
Man United sensation Dan Gore will undergo a medical on Tuesday (23 January) ahead of his loan move to Port Vale, sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough year at Old Trafford having played twice for the senior team, but United are keen for him to earn regular first-team football.
A host of League One sides had enquired about signing Gore, including promotion-chasing Bolton and Blackpool as well as Shrewsbury Town and Fleetwood Town.
But 18th-place Port Vale have won the race for the central midfielder and now have a full agreement in place with the Red Devils to take him for the remainder of the campaign.
Gore has made two appearances under Erik ten Hag this season – as a late substitute in their league clash against Aston Villa on Boxing Day and in their EFL Cup win against Crystal Palace in September.
He is highly regarded by staff at Carrington and the club are eager to develop him into a first-team star in the future.
Following excellent displays with the under-21s, he won the reserve squad’s Player of the Year award last season.
He has recently attracted attention from huge European sides, with Football Insider revealing last month (28 December) that Borussia Dortmund had lined up a big offer to bring him to the Bundesliga.
Gore has also been recognised at international level and made his debut for England’s under-20s in October.

Man United sit eighth in the Premier League table after their 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Sunday 14 January.
They next take on League Two side Newport County in the fourth round of the FA Cup after the winter break on Sunday 28 January.
