Sources: Man City postpone Delap loan in Stoke and Bournemouth blow
Liam Delap’s proposed Manchester City loan move has been delayed due to injury, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
Stoke City and Bournemouth have been leading the race for the England Under-18 forward.
A City source has told Football Insider that a season-long loan for Delap was close to being agreed.
But it has been put on hold as Delap is carrying a slight knock and City are waiting for him to recover before making a decision on his future.
On 2nd August, Football Insider revealed the Potters were in advanced talks with the youngster.
Then yesterday (5th August), this site also revealed Bournemouth had entered the race to sign the son of Stoke icon Rory Delap.

Delap, 18, signed for Manchester City in 2019 after spending 10 years coming through the ranks at Derby County.
City are willing to loan the youngster out for this season to gain regular senior playing experience.
He made three appearances for the senior Man City side last season.
His first goal for the club came against new suitors Bournemouth in the FA Cup.
Delap was also given minutes in the Premier League as City lost 5-2 to Leicester City.
Stoke have lost forward Sam Vokes this summer and will be without the injured Tyrese Campell for an extended period.
Bournemouth are also on the lookout for a new striker after selling Sam Surridge to Stoke.
On 3rd August, Football Insider revealed Surridge had passed a medical at the Bet365 Stadium ahead of a £2million move with the deal confirmed the next day.
However, they will now have to wait on the potential signing of Delap after his fresh injury blow.
