Sources: Marcel Sabitzer is pushing to sign for Man United – all parties want deal done soon

Marcel Sabitzer is pushing to stay at Man United on a permanent basis beyond this season, sources have told Football Insider.

The 29-year-old midfielder joined the Red Devils on loan from Bayern Munich in January, and he has settled down well in Erik ten Hag’s side.

The Dutchman is a huge fan of the Austria international and believes Sabitzer would be a great permanent addition to the club’s dressing room.

Football Insider sources revealed on Friday (7 April) that United are keen to sign Sabitzer permanently, with Ten Hag pushing the board to complete a deal.

It is understood that all parties involved in a potential deal this summer are keen to complete negotiations quickly.

Sabitzer is happy at Old Trafford and has informed his agent to agree to terms over a permanent deal.

United are eager to open negotiations in the coming weeks, and Bayern Munich are open to letting Sabitzer leave provided their £25-30million asking price is met.

The building blocks for a move are already in place after United and Bayern held talks over the possibility of a permanent move in January, although the fine details are yet to be finalised.

Sabitzer fell down the pecking order in Germany under Julian Nagelsamnn but has seen an increase in minutes in Manchester.

Man United

Casemiro’s suspensions at United have provided Sabitzer with a chance to impress, and he has now started four consecutive matches for the club.

In 12 total appearances across all competitions, Sabitzer has scored and assisted once for United so far this season.
