Sources: Nathan Collins set for Wolves medical as £21m deal agreed with Burnley

Wolves have agreed to sign Burnley star Nathan Collins for £21million, sources have told Football Insider.

The centre-back, 21, has been given the green light to head to the Midlands outfit for a medical on Tuesday (12 July) and to discuss personal terms.

Wolves have had a bid accepted for Collins worth £21m in total.

The transfer is now expected to be completed in the next 24 hours.

It will be regarded as a major coup for Wolves, given the Irishman has been a target for a number of Premier League clubs this summer following Burnley’s relegation to the Championship.

Wolves have been in the market for defensive reinforcements following the exit of Romain Saiss earlier this summer.

Collins only moved to Turf Moor last season from Stoke City for a reported fee of around £12million.

Burnley were trying to plan for life after long-term centre-back partnership James Tarkowski and Ben Mee.

Both of them have already quit this club this summer with Tarkowski signing for Everton but Vincent Kompany has been busy replacing them.

The Clarets have added centre-back Luke McNally, CJ Egan-Riley and Taylor Harwood-Bellis to their squad as they prepare for life in the second-tier.

Collins will end his spell with the club with two goals in 22 games across all competitions, including 19 Premier League appearances.

He also has six Republic of Ireland caps after making his debut in October 2021.

Wolves finished 10th in the Premier League in 2021-22, five points off the European places.
