Sources: Tottenham star Hugo Lloris to be sold, club actively looking for replacement
Tottenham are open to selling club captain Hugo Lloris this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 36-year-old goalkeeper is entering the final year of his contract, and Spurs are willing to part ways with him for a small fee at the end of the season.
Lloris is currently sidelined through injury in North London, with Fraser Forster filling in for the World Cup-winning Frenchman.
It is understood that Tottenham are planning to sign a new starting goalkeeper in the summer to replace the outgoing Lloris.
Lloris is unlikely to stay in the Premier League, with a move back to France his most likely option should he leave. A number of Ligue 1 clubs have already shown interest in a summer move.
Lloris, who is one of the club’s top earners on around £200,000-a-week, has spent 11 years at Spurs following his move from Lyon in 2012 and has made 443 senior appearances during his time in North London.
He has continued to be a key player under Antonio Conte but has struggled with injuries this season and missed nine consecutive matches with a knee problem.
With Lloris well into the twilight years of his career, Spurs are keen to sign a younger goalkeeper to be part of the club’s long-term project.

The Premier League club are expected to sack Conte imminently and appoint a replacement ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Football Insider sources revealed on Friday that Spurs have made Julian Nagelsmann their first-choice target to replace Conte.
