Sources: West Ham plotting new Gallagher offer as star’s plan revealed

West Ham are weighing up a late-window offer for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, sources have told Football Insider.

There is ongoing speculation about his future with the Blues ready to consider letting the 23-year-old go for the right price.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (26 August) that Tottenham are also ready to swoop for Gallagher.

However, the midfielder’s priority at present is still to be a valuable member of the Chelsea squad for manager Mauricio Pochettino.

That is despite signings like Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia coming in ahead of the England international in recent weeks.

West Ham reportedly saw a £40million bid for Gallagher rejected earlier this summer.

Since then, the Irons have moved to add Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse to their midfield options – but it is believed they are still keen to reinforce that area following Declan Rice’s early-window departure.

Gallagher featured heavily in pre-season and has played 255 minutes of competitive football already this term – with new signing Lavia not yet ready to feature.

The former Crystal Palace loanee has less than two years left to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge.

He made 45 appearances across all competitions in the 2022-23 season – scoring three and assisting one.

West Ham

West Ham have picked up seven points from their opening three games of the season and beat Brighton 3-1 in an impressive away performance on Saturday evening (26 August).

The Irons are reportedly close to wrapping up the signing of Mohamed Kudus from Ajax despite competition from the Seagulls.

In other news, West Ham make contact over another Eredivisie deal.
